Hmmm

I suck at blogging, I'm now 26 weeks and 2 days and haven't updated in 12 weeks time. Maybe I will do that later.

14 weeks!!

Just sharing my 14 week photo! Please ignore my messy room and the ugly green mirror. It's all I have and our room is always the last to be cleaned. :) Nothing new to report, except my belly is growing and the vomiting has subsided. I really in my heart believe I'm having another boy; however DH is thinking girl so we are currently choosing names for both.

12 Weeks!

Yay! As you can see not much going on as far as a bump.

Quick Update!

Had my thyroid checked on Monday, and it came back in normal range! Great news :) So I get to continue my regular dosage until I have it re-checked in 4-5 weeks :)

First Midwife Appointment

I really should get better at updating this if I am going to chronical my pregnancy, birth, and life after with two children ;)

I had my first midwife appt. last Wednesday November 2. It went great. I met with the very first of 6 midwives I'll be meeting throughout this pregnancy. She was so sweet, very nice, and made me feel extremely comfortable. She did a full body check, and best of all I HEARD THE HEARTBEAT! That's so exciting! She put my weight gain goal in the 15-20 lb range, which shouldn't be a problem with all the food aversions I've been having. At my endocrinologist appt. yesterday the scale actually read that I lost 2 lbs. I do feel like I lost weight, and just have a little belly. I'm not even showing yet. This pregnancy is already so different from when I carried my son.

My next appt is on Nov. 28, but I will definitely update before then :)

And so it begins...

Another joyful 9 months of pregnancy. I decided to blog about this pregnancy. It's something I wish I would have done with my first child but alas, I did not.

Currently I'm 9 weeks 2 days along, and my baby has well formed digits per the pregnancy ticker.

I decided to have a natural birth this time around. Not that I have anything against my first labor and delivery, he did come vaginally and I'm thankful for that. But, I did not enjoy the induction, the pitocin induced contractions which forced me to cave to an epidural after 1 1/2 hours of hyperventilating through non-stop contracting, and the episiotomy which gave me a nice 3rd degree tear. So this time, I'm birthing at the midwife center in the strip district completely naturally.

"natural childbirth; noun
childbirth involving little or no use of drugs or anesthesia and usually involving a program in which the mother is psychologically and physically prepared for the birth process."

Maybe it's because I have this crazy rebellious side to me, or maybe I really do enjoy pain, either way I'm up for this challenge. The best part about it, is I don't have to spend 2 days in the hospital with nurses coming in at midnight waking everyone up to check to see how I was doing "down there." We get to go home, as a family, that same day pending everything goes well (which it will).

There are a few things I need to ensure. I need to keep up my workout routine. My only work out routine when I was pregnant with Evan consisted of shifting sides of the couch while flipping through channels on the tv. I ended up with high blood pressure thanks to the lovely 50 pounds I had gained (which I'm proud to say I had lost all of it). My blood pressure can not spike, so to make sure I don't gain too much I watch what I eat (kind of) and I workout 4-5 times a week for a good 45 minutes to an hour. So far so good. Although I'm not sure what I gained since I refuse to step on a scale but I will find out in exactly a week as that is my very first midwife appointment. And since I really wasn't in the mood to type tonight, and I am in my head not making much sense, I will end this here and will update in a week.
